08 · How Starry Night began

THREE WOMEN.
One shared table.

About 25 years ago, my mom immigrated from Korea as a single mother, bringing me with her. Cooking was always how she shared love with our family, friends and neighbours.

Years later, when I came across a restaurant space for sale, I encouraged her to finally turn that passion into something of her own. Two of her best friends joined her, and together the three of them opened Starry Night.

What began as my mom’s dream became something they built side by side: a small, women-owned business centred on the food and atmosphere they love.
